City Centre Nieuwegein
Nieuwegein is getting a make-over. The original city centre last got its facelift in the recession times of the 1980s. Cheap building materials were used at that time. The city centre was bleak and unfriendly. But now there is a large-scale renovation and expansion taking place that will give the city centre of Nieuwegein a completely new look.
There is now a cofferdam located on the former market area on the Schakelstede, where a multi-storey car park of approximately 2,600m2 will be built. It was decided to use a horizontal soil injection layer in order to be able to execute the above works.
The work has already been completed and the contractor is busy building.
