Catharijnesingel Utrecht
The Catharijnesingel canal was filled up in the seventies. Water will now be brought back in the canal. This will restore the historic canal structure around the city centre. The canal will be given the appeal of a lively city canal with wharfs, restaurants, cafes and shops. These activities are only a small part of the large-scale changes that the centre of Utrecht awaits. For more information refer to www.cu2030.nl
To build overground the ground beneath it has to be in good order. People are already working on this since 2006. Parallel to the Catharijnesingel a sewer is constructed on a large depth. To do this work they choose for a sheetpile construction-pit with a bottom seal through soil injection using water glass. B&P was assigned for this job and is busy with it as we speak. Because the project is in the city centre of Utrecht everything within our power is applied to reduce vibration nuisance.
